Is your Life Purpose to be a success?

Do you know how to achieve tangible, measurable results? Do you know how to succeed? Or, do you have great ideas that never seem to come to fruition?

Are you always dreaming of what you could be? Is the idea of being successful exciting, but also a bit scary?

Do you feel like a failure at times, or is that too strong a word… perhaps, you think you don’t know enough to be a success?

Perhaps you’ve tried on a number of occasions to achieve something but it hasn’t worked out? It is your Life Purpose to be a Master of Results (a success in the world) if you have a deep desire to be independent, particularly with regard to making money and succeeding in your own terms. Those of us with a Master of Results Life Purpose tend to  experience everything but success before we finally figure out how to do it… often we hide out, so scared of failing we don’t try, so scared of success we put roadblocks in our way, but something keeps pulling at us… we want to be successful and the more we secretly hope for it, the more our efforts get sabotaged, the lower we feel.

You have a choice, you can continue to exist as you are or you can decide enough is enough! It is time to get back onto your road to achieving tangible, measurable material results!

For a fledgling Master of Results,

we need to understand our belief systems about money and success to prevent them being our own internal roadblocks.

  • What are your beliefs about money? What has your life experience taught you about money? Are you scared of having no money? Have you had so much that you’ve never had to be self-reliant or competent in any way?
  • What are your beliefs about money and success? Do you think people who succeed are ruthless or arrogant? How comfortable are you about earning more and achieving more than anyone else in your family? How would becoming a success in your own terms impact your current life and those around you (think beyond the obvious here)?
  • Are you making good money but find that it does not make you feel fulfilled? Are you afraid to risk failure to do something you really want deep down? Do you feel your worth is determined by how much money you have?
  • Do you want to do everything yourself? Do you ever allow others to help you? Do you feel more competent than those around you? Alternatively, are you completely dependent on others for your material support and lazy about doing things for yourself?

Being aware of how you think and what you believe to be true, helps you to understand why you may not, subconsciously, want success.Knowledge of yourself and your belief systems is key to changing your experience of yourself and the world you live in. If you are destined to be successful here are some things that you may encounter out in the world:

  • Others are threatened by your success or your focus on success, discouraging you from going for your goals either by saying so outright or by subtler means.
  • You will encounter obstacles in your pursuit of success. How you deal with those obstacles ultimately determines your success or failure.  Don’t give up!
  • You will fail, and you may fail again after you succeed… this is how you learn what not to do, this is how you become a master of success and achieving the results you want.  Don’t give up!
  • Waiting for the right set of circumstances before you take action… There will always be a reason not to take action.  Stop making excuses and take the first step, progress one step at a time.

So please tell me, do you think it is your Life Purpose to be successful? Are any of the experiences I’ve mentioned above true for you? Tell me your stories.I am really interested!!! I will leave you with one last thought “Being a success is not instant and it is not without effort!

But that is the whole point – we never value things we haven’t had to work for anyway…”

Have a beautiful day!

Are you hiding out?

It feels so nice and safe to hide out… I love it! At least I think IRotten tomatoes? do… hmmm….? Do you hide out? Keep a low profile? Careful not to raise your head above any line that may make you stand out in some way? Truly amazing how desperate we all are to be approved of, to be liked, to fit in. And yet… there is a cry deep within our souls that asks so much more of us. It can feel anything like a vague sense of discomfort, a niggle, all the way to feeling physically trapped, powerless, desperate. What does it feel like for you?

There are so many reasons that each and everyone of us hide out.  A common one is what Richard Unger calls “tomato fear”, in other words fear of people throwing tomatoes at us, which is fundamentally the same as being criticised or rejected.  The idea of being rejected… aaahhhh!!! Too painful for words… but I’m developing strategies for coping with that!

Recent research shows that we naturally tend to look to  the negative in any given situation because it is a primal instinct. We naturally feel safe with people who are pro us and so we can feel safe enough to ignore them, but the moment we sense something other than positive vibes towards us, the primitive part of our brain goes on high alert – danger! So we are wired to keep ourselves safe, and the best way to do that is not to get noticed, to avoid any form of confrontation.

We have this primitive part of ourselves and a higher self, a soul calling us forth to fulfil our life purposes, and they are pulling in opposite directions. Part of our purpose is to become conscious of the things we do on autopilot. Autopilot tends to be our primitive self controlling our actions, but once we become conscious of what we are doing and why we are doing it we can change our behaviour and the results we get.

So take your first step into your light and think about what you are doing… Are you allowing yourself to feel your emotions, even the ucky ones or are you burying them inside yourself pretending you don’t feel anything? Are you keeping what you think to yourself in fear of being criticised or mocked? Are you avoiding taking any action in case it’s the “wrong” action or are you scared that taking one path will prevent you trying another so it is easier just to stay still? Are you sacrificing what you want just to keep the peace? Are you taking care of everyone else and forgetting about yourself?

Your first step is simply to notice what you are doing… and DO NOT beat yourself up about it.  We all do it.  We all have to start by noticing what we’re doing and then in our own time, in baby steps, take a few chances and act in a way that is more true to who we really are.

It is our collective purpose to experience as much as we can, do everything we do with love and live our life purposes. It seems to be humanity’s purpose to develop self-esteem, to learn to value ourselves for who we really are, and the individuality of those around us. On top of that each one of us has an individual purpose that we are being led toward throughout our lives.  Still don’t know what your purpose is? Don’t worry, you’re not unusual.  There are ways to discover it…  I personally love the simple, easy map lying in your hands but there are other ways too.

Purpose hint:

if you are avoiding doing something as hard as you can (hiding out) then in all likelihood the thing you’re avoiding is part of your life purpose.  Our life purposes calls us to get out of our comfort zones, to have new experiences, personally and out in the world, to live!

This article is as much for me as it is for you.  Fear of failure has held me hostage for so many years.  I am so fed up with it that I am taking, and have taken, steps to move into the life

I really want.  This blog is part of my way of stepping into my light.

I’d really love to hear about what keeps you in hiding, what holds you back, what you fear, or simply your experiences of trying to come out of hiding and how they felt…

3 steps to getting unstuck

Most of the people I speak to aren’t satisfied with their lives… it’s as if the dreams they had as children, teenagers or young adults were just that, dreams.

They feel as if life is fairly hum-drum and can’t imagine how they might live a different life. A life they love.  A life that makes them want to get up in the morning. A life that makes them feel as if they are living with a purpose, a reason for being.

Well, the world is changing and more and more of us are being called to WAKE UP! Wake up to your purpose.  Wake up to your role in changing the world we live in, changing it for the better for all of us. Those of us who are not listening to the calls to wake up and refocus our lives to fulfil our purpose will keep encountering hurdles and difficulties, things will keep going “wrong” for us…

We may have  good intentions but somehow something always seems to get in the way… not facing that “something” is what is keeping you stuck.  Toward the end of this article

I’ll give you a tip on how you can quickly figure out what is holding you back from living your life purpose… a life where you feelfulfilled and excited!

Here are 3 steps to getting out of your rut and back on the road that is your unique life purpose:

1. Remember what your dreams were. What did you want to do? Who did you want to be? Ignore how realistic those dreams were, just remember them and how they made you feel.  That is the feeling you need to get back, and you can!!

2. Think about those dreams of yours and what stopped you following them? Each time your life diverted away from your dreams what happened, what were you faced with, that made you turn away from them? Look for underlying similarities to these events… things like not believing you deserved what you wanted, feeling unsupported, feeling out of control, other people’s opinions, fear of success, fear of failure.  You will more than likely start to notice a trend whenever you encounter a “hurdle” in your life and this trend is likely to be a very big clue to your life lesson (more about that later).

3. Take some quiet time each day (10 minutes is fine) and listen, listen with an open heart, to what your emotions and your heart are telling you, whether it is to take a certain job (or not), take a trip or simply to be kinder to your mother!Put your logic aside for a while and truly listen to your heart, follow its advice, and as you learn to listen to how you feel about things, taking those feelings into consideration before you act, so you will start to steer your life closer to your true purpose.  Remember that your soul speaks to you through your heart!

Make the outcome of these 3 steps part of your everyday life. Remember how you felt when you truly dreamed and start to dream again (no practical, logical stuff allowed, just dream of possibilities). Whenever you come up against a choice or a hurdle use the awareness you gained from step 2 to re-look at the choice or hurdle you are being offered. I hope that awareness will help you not to slip into autopilot copying the actions you have taken in the past. And then, the most important of all, take time to listen to your heart whenever you can, listen to how you feel and act based on how you feel.  More importantly though never make any choice again without listening to your heart… if it doesn’t feel “right” no matter how right it looks logically or on paper then don’t do it.  It isn’t your purpose.  Trust your soul.  Trust your heart.  It knows what is best for you. Okay, I promised you a quick tip earlier and here it is.  Get a Life Purpose hand analysis reading!  I am constantly stunned by the impact the information left in people’s hands by their soul, has on them, thus I am passionate about this being a tool for each of us to save years and years of looking, searching and angst! Amaterasu – don’t hide your light!

Amaterasu Amaterasu is the Japanese sun goddess, radiant, warm and compassionate.  She is the one who shows people their beauty and potential. The short version of the story is that she was so angry with her brother the storm god that in protest she shut herself in a cave and sealed it shut with a giant rock. As a result, the world was consumed with darkness. But the darkness within the cave was nothing compared to the darkness outside the cave. The people had lost their radiant mother and sat huddled in their homes, listless and hopeless. Without her light in the kingdom, they could not see their own strength and so had lost the will to go on. The world began to wither and die. In her headlong flight to the cave, she had lost her ability to see clearly… her light was truly dimmed.  She only eventually agreed to come out of her cave when she saw her reflection in a mirror. She’d never seen herself before and when she caught her reflection, she forgot her pain and fear, transfixed by her own radiance.

Are you hiding out in your cave? Have you ever really looked in a mirror and seen your true radiance? Are you depriving us of your light, making our world a duller place?

What a relief… I’m normal! Yay!

I remember aged 18 or so turning around to one of my olderbrothers who had some hang-up about something or another, and saying “I don’t have any hang-ups!”. Ah, the pride of the young and innocent! What he said at the time really stayed with me, he said “Hel, you’re not old enough to have developed them yet.”…  Well I am now!

Then I participated in a psychosynthesis “essentials” course… I was interested in what psychosynthesis was all about. The 5 days on this “essentials” course were a real eye opener.  Perhaps not in the way the course organisers intended…!!

:)…

The “Aha!” moment the course gave me was to realise that every single one of us has issues… Until I participated on that course I was not aware that I subconsciously thought some people were so together they didn’t have any issues… (unlike me!).

Bonfire Night – a community spirit!

Fireworks It is Guy Fawkes Day in the UK today. I love Bonfire Night! As a child in Swaziland we used to have a straw stuffed pair of overalls, representing “Guy”, who rather macabrely was placed on top of a big bonfire and allowed to burn to everyones’ cheers. I won’t get into the origins of the event here, suffice to say it is a very British thing, and it has metamorphasized into a wonderful excuse for some fun.  The local western community would all get together to stand around and enjoy the primeval draw of a large fire while enjoying beer and wine and connecting with friends and the community in general.  For us kids it it was the ultimate experience… fireworks, sparklers, a huge fire to fuel our excitement and plenty of room to run around in in wild abandon. I loved the sense of community the event brought to us all, young and old.

Space to be…

Marilyn Do you have some space you can call your own? The more people I talk to these days the more it seems that few of us have the space or the environment we need to thrive…

Having a place that is all your own, whether it is a whole ranch, a house, an apartment, a room or just a corner of a room, is essential.

You need to have dominion over this space.  It needs to reflect you and allow you to feel peace. It should be a place you can go to recharge your batteries, to think, to read, to be alone, to rest…

What’s that glow?

Healing Touch So many people struggle to grasp the concept of the energy that vibrates around everything…

For me I’ve been aware of it all my life. It has never occurred to me that it doesn’t exist. As a child I would see the “light” around people and even now if I don’t look directly at a person I can see their “glow”.  I’m no more “special” than the next person.  It has just never occurred to me that I can’t see it, so I can!

Try it.  Get someone to sit against a light coloured wall then look at them in soft focus and see if you can’t see a gap about a centimetre/ half an inch around their physical body and then a glow emanating from that…?

Our energy fields are fluid, are far more in tune with our environment than we realise but our emotions and our thoughts affect our auric body significantly.

If you are positive and feeling happy your energy expands and gets lighter and brighter, its vibration is raised. Because it expands it is more likely to touch others auras and so people notice you and loving the vibration you are at they are attracted to you.

Treat yourself!

I am special!

In our society we talk about love a lot! One of the current themes is “love yourself”.  What does that really mean?  Try this instead… Value yourself. Value your place in this world. See and value the impact you have on those around you. See and value the role you play at home, at work and in your community. Why value yourself? Well, it is a bit like owning a car… if you value it you will make sure it is kept in good shape so it is able to fulfil its function in your life.
